FIAT-ANSALDO CV33-L3/33

The Ansaldo Light tank L3/33 (3t) was developed in 1933 for the Italian Royal Army (Regio Esercito Italiano) and was used for the first time during the Ethiopian campaign . Well known by Allied forces as "Tomato jar", this tiny tank was armed with two 8mm MGs.It was operative (in all versions) from 1933 to 1945 on all fighting theaters. The picture shows the 3D model of an L3/33 (1st version , w/welded hull) of CCCXII (312) Tank BT seen in Crete during 1941. The model is highly detailed with more than 103.000 faces. Note the detailing of the tracks and the weathering.
PROFILES
A CV33 (1st version) armed with a single 6.5mm MG (FIAT 14). The tank is of the 1st company of the 2nd "Gruppo CV - San Marco" (Armoured cavalry), Rovereto (Trento), 1935. Every tank of the Italian cavalry were nicknamed with the name of a battle or of a famous hero of Italian history. |
