A History of the Human Empire
TURN 6
Imperial Income = 5196.54 Mcr
Another 500,000 colonists are shipped to the asteriod belt in the
Eternity system, though there has been an overwhelming call for expanded
colonizaton from the general public. Offices of the Colonization
Department have been swamped with people wanting to leave. One wonders
why....
10 Discovery class vessels are completed, with a further 11 laid down
After the "doom and gloom" report of our scientists last month,
industrial exapansion is neglected "accidentally". Considering the
research has been receiving 1000 MCr per month for the last six month,
prvate industry can fend for itself this month.
Our survey forces have a very productive month. Detailed warp points
surveys are completed in the Sol and Sigma Draconis systems, revealing
an additional two warp points, both in the Sigma Draconis system. In
addition, Planetary and Asteriod surveys are completed in all three
systems.
TURN 7
Imperial Income = 5290.25Mcr
More colonists are shipped to the asteroids, with a massive colonization
effort planned for the next month. The Colonization Department hopes to
ship 3 million people to new homes.
11 Discovery class vessels are completed, and mothballed. The final 6
vessels are laid down.
On the surveying side, the three fleets take flying leaps into the
unknown.
Survey 01 leaves Proxima Centauri for a White star system named Hector.
Survey 02 enters an Orange star system, which is named Shaka.
Survey 03 probes the Warp point to find a Red Star system, which is
named Centaurus
Once again, no habitable worlds are found. It begins to appear that
habitable real estate is exceedingly rare in the galaxy. Either that, or
we are have extra-ordinarily bad luck.
TURN 8
Imperial Income = 5462.79Mcr
The month opens with a massive colonization effort. All available
Freighters are used to ship colonists and material to the asteroid belt.
By months end, the Colonization Department has smashed it's own goals
and shipped over 4 million colonists. Still more people are demanding
the right to colonize, so another effort is considered for the next
month.
6 Discovery class completed, bringing to an end the work of the
Construction Command in the short term. Simple econimocs dictates we
hoard our resources, and do not become extravagent.
Rough surveys of the Hector, Shaka, and Centaurus systems are completed,
with one additional warp point found in each system.
TURN 9
Imperial Income = 5663.08Mcr
In a bold move, the Colonization Department authorises the first
extra-solar systems colonies.
2.5 million colonists are shipped to the Proxima Centauri system,
colonising various moons and planets.
Not content with this massive effort, another 2.5 million people are
also shipped in-system to asteriod colonies, and moon-bases.
This has been the month of the Colonist. In all, the Colonization
Department has shipped over 10 million people to various colonies over
the last few months. The entire department is given one weeks holidays
next month to celebrate this effort.
TURN 10
Imperial Income = 5800.25Mcr
In a piddling, though still vital, effort compared to the last few
months, another 1/2 million colonists are shipped out. This time to the
Sigma Draconis system. This gives the Imperium a truly "galactic" feel,
as we now have colonies in 3 separate solar systems.
Spurred on by the news of the massive queues for colonization, the
survey fleets completed detailed surveys of the Hector, Shaka and
Centaurus systems, finding a total of 6 additional warp points. Various
planetary surveys are also completed.
The lack of habitable worlds is a major drawback to the Imperium. While
colonies on the various moons and asteriods are definitely worthwhile,
habitable worlds are needed to truly expand the Imperium.
