Twilik Campaign: Turn 30

Turn 30:

Production 9897.39 Mc, Trade 99.08 Mc, Population 4950

Research has been completed on Point Defense & Long Range Scanners this
month. As a side result, our researchers believe they have aquired enough
new data to come up with new tech ideas. As such, funding has been granted
to begin researching this new tech base.

With these new techs being available for use, the naval ship designers
propose building a new size of ship, and as suspected, they are calling it
a 'Heavy Cruiser'. They also feel it is time to build a ship that has
dedicated C&C capabilites to act as fleet flagships. To that end, they
propose a new class of ship, with a command variant.

HYDRA class CA 12 XO Racks	60 Hull TL 3
[3] (S*6)(A*5)HW(II)W(II)QsW(II)W(II)DWWWMgDDQs(II)(BbS)(II)QsL [6]
60 RCP Trg:1 Cost = 831/ 124.7
HTK 40 Sx6 Ax5 Dx3 Lx1 Wx7 Mgx1

HYDRA C class CA 12 XO Racks	60 Hull TL 3
[3] (S*6)(A*5)HW(II)W(II)QsW(II)W(II)DWMgDXrDQs(CiC)(II)(BbS)(II)QsL [6]
60 RCP Trg:1 Cost = 891/ 133.7
HTK 40 Sx6 Ax5 Dx3 Lx1 Wx5 Mgx1

We end up chosing the Hydra C class to build as the prototype as it makes
sense to have ships with C&C capabilities in our fleet. This will allow us
to have one several months sooner than had we chosen the plain Hydra class
ship for the prototype. With the uncertainties reguarding the Clans of
Shakar, we may well need command ships sooner than we would like.

Funding our new area of research, & begining construction on the prototype
Heavy Cruiser has depeleted our available funds this month.

The newly built Imp 17 & 18 are ordered to join the Tilweh Defense squad in
Val Alorn.

Survey Squad 2, Task Force 1 which remained in the Lizal System in case the
Lizal need to contact us, has completed the habitable world survey of the
primary star... It is a perfect match for our homeworld and has an even
better source of minerals. It is also at the edge of the Lizals benign zone
so will be as easy to colonize to either race. We have decided to let them
have the rights to colonize both remaining planets in the system, as it is
their system. It will be awhile before they can colonize it themselves, so
we will allow them to book passage on our freighters in order that they may
colonize beyond their own world when we have unused capacity.

Survey Fleet 1 completes its detailed survey of Zhentil Keep, they report a
total of 3 unexplored WP in the System.
The probe of the 1st WP reveals a Yellow-Orange system with 1 T-Type world
around the primary. The probe reveals that it is inhabited by an industrial
race of approx 550 population units. They name the system Myth Drannor.
The probe of the second WP reveals a Yellow-Red system. It has 3 T-type
worlds around the primary along with 2 asteroid belts. The companion star
isn't without merit. It has a single asteroid belt. The system is named New
Sorpigal. A HT presence is detected in system. Emissions seem to indicate a
large population base in this system, and the emmissions don't seem to be
coming from just the habitable worlds. We are detecting emmissions around
almost every planet, including some of those around the companion star. We
are meet by 2 Explorer sized hulls & Diplomat 09 initiates 1st contact.
Initial communications are established with the Sonata Republic. The
remaining ships withdraw back to Zhentil Keep to join the survey efforts in
one of the other 2 systems.
The probe of the remaining WP reveals another one of those WPs that leads
to nowhere. It is assigned a number of 337 until our scientists can give us
and indication as to what is happening. As the fleet is fresh out of
diplomatic ships, they decide to try a survey of the starless region around
the WP in 337 to see if these ends are isolated, or if more are in the
vacinity.

Survey Fleet 2 complets its detailed survey of Nadir, reporting a total of
4 unexplored WPs.
The probe of the 1st WP finds an White-Red Dwarf system they name
Longsaddle. The system has a single asteroid belt around each star & no
habitable planets or signs of alien life.
The probe of the 2nd WP finds a double Orange system with asteroids around
each star and a T-Type world around the primary. The system is called
Lentria. No life signs are detected during the probe.
The probe of the 3rd WP finds an Orange star system with no asteroids or
habitable planets. No life is detected here either. The system is named
Sathuli.
The probe of the remaining WP finds a Yellow star with both a T & ST type
world orbiting it. The probe finds no life and the fleet starts its
habitable world survey in this system before begining its WP survey. The
system is named Gondor. DSBs are placed at both ends of the WP to Gondor.

Survey Fleet 3 completes its detailed survey of Rohan, finding a total of 1
unexplored WP.
The probe discovers a Yellow-White Dwarf system with a single ST-Type
world orbiting the primary. No inhabitants are found. The system is named
Vagria & the planetary survey begins immediately. DSBs are placed at both
ends of the WP leading to Vagria.
