Religions and Cults of Caern's Deities

Elementals Although the worship of the Elementals predates the migration and even written lore, there is no actualized, formal worship of them. Only a few itinerate clerics and a few sacred groves show the signs. Everyone though, knows of their reality and also their disinterest in sacrifices, worship, and idolization. They almost never, openly, show their reality.

Darok: [Law] (symbol: Balances) is worshipped mainly by arbiters and those of legal inclinations. Darok gave man the prerequisites for law and justice. Main religious faction is the Brotherhood of Justice, seen in most large cities. Priest’s main weapon is the spiked club.
Xioch: [Chaos] (symbol: Circle with Red Arrows Emanating) Although Xioch is a greater goddess, her cult is few and extremely secretive, normally advancing her faith through subterfuge. The main cult is the Followers of the Splayed Fist, a group almost never seen openly. Her priests usually wield a double-edged battleaxe.
Rhynn: [Nature] (symbol: crossed wheat stalks) One of the largest and most open of faiths. Followers are midwives and farmers to the Druidic Assemblage. Many smaller factions, the largest being the Sisters of Life. Usually use the longbow or scimitar (not both).
Gurd: [Death] (symbol: scythe in flames) Gurd, like Rhynn, is not aligned good or evil
but is absolute neutral. The underworld is not to be seen as evil or good but as a final resting place.
Even so, Gurd is not widely worshipped although many clerics of many religions worship him so as to allow those departed to pass by the most evil ones and come to that final rest. The major faction has misinterpreted his teaching and formed the Cult of Dissolution-bathing in the death of all. Normal weapons for all is the scythe.
Apros: [Love] (symbol: heart backed by two arrows) the goddess of love and beauty. Her followers, the Sisters of the Pure Heart, are the most beautiful and oftimes, dangerous of females.
Trained in the use of weapons as well as their beauty. They mainly use the longbow.
Aroch: [Evil] (symbol: skull with horns) This cult is the embodiment of evil in the world. All orders come from the Lord of Evil or his minions. Several smaller factions exist but the main one is the Merach Corill or the Horned Ones. They revel in desecration and human sacrifices. They use the bastard sword.
Milath: [Magick] (symbol: diamond surrounded by aura) One of the twins, Milath orders all that is good in magick. Her followers use their abilities to help others. Mainly mages, the main faction is the Saereth Arcanum or the Followers of the White Star.
Umath [Magick] (symbol: bone staff surrounded by aura) The second twin orders all that is evil and destructive in magick. Her followers horde the darker abilities which sometimes prove greater than good. This faction is the Mishalik Arcanum or the Followers of the Black Pentagram.
Dian [Healing] (symbol: crossed oak and mistletoe) The goddess of healing, Dian's followers are clerics and physicians the world over. All races are accepted. The Followers of Dian are the main worshippers and also the greatest of healers. Her people are experts with the spear.
Kiup [Sickness] (symbol: inverted caduceus) Followers of this deity revel in sickness and plague. Entrance into her temples is a guaranteed way to succumb to a near fatal disease. Her sickly, diseased followers are the Cultists of Torment. They are somewhat allied with the followers of Gurd.
Kovaleer [Wisdom] (symbol: unfurled scroll) The only religion bent on knowledge and wisdom.
The Seekers of Knowledge are oftimes allied with the followers of Milath. Mainly sages and scholars.
Korin [War] (symbol: crossed sword and hammer) Korin is a lawful neutral god. He who watches over warriors and all combatants. He has no true religious faction but is prayed to by all fighters.
Tierce [Luck/Gambling] (symbol: bone dice) The god of luck can turn either way depending on the "roll of the dice." Tierce also has no true worshippers but many call upon him in time of need.
Heren [Thieves] (symbol; figure in dark cloak) Goddess of thieves. All thieves' guilds have a small chapel to her. Only thieves and some assassins. No strict cult.
Kyung [Truth] (symbol: open book) The god of truth is sometimes allied with Milath and Kovaleer. The Priests of True Light travel the land upholding truth in all they meet.
Syr [Deceit] (symbol: clasped hands pierced by dagger) The goddess of lies is loosely allied with Xioch. This order is set to lay the land in untruths. The Followers of Delusion abide everywhere.
None but the highest knows their whereabouts.
Lyan [Light/Summer] (symbol: the sun) The goddess of light and understanding. Her cults aid all in trouble, be it depression or misunderstanding. The Cult of Light carries the torch to others.
Anash [Dark/Winter] (crescent moon) The god of dark and cold seeks to lay the world under snow and ice. He is aligned with Syr in misunderstanding and false knowledge. The Cold Ones seek the ways of winter.
