EMPTY

          Should the world somehow bestow
          The vastness of its' wealth on me -
          Gold, silver and all its' land
          And all the castles of all kingdoms
          Riches unimagined -
          All this would still
          Have no meaning.
          No diamond could ever reflect
          In so many facets, in so many dimensions
          The brilliant light of your eyes;
          No gold, however polished
          Could capture the beauty of your hair,
          So flowing in its’ delicate embrace of your face.
          No palace of marble could give me shelter
          Or protect me from storms -
          Despite my wealth, I'd still be poorer
          Than the humblest beggar;
          My heart would be so empty
          If I had to live in a world without you.
