In Memory of Emmalee Cathryn
Chad and I had decided to try and have a baby in the fall of 2001. We tried for a year and then decided to stop for a while because we were planning a big move. We were moving from a small little farming community to our provinces capital a huge move. But soon after we stopped trying we found out we were pregnant and baby would be here on Dec 5/03. We decided to make our move anyway. On August 11, 2003 at 23weeks pregnant I was making a trip from our old house with some of our possesions. I made it to our new home around 11 p.m. after an exhausting six hour drive. I went straight to bed as my back was very sore I and I was so tired. At about 5 a.m. my backache was so bad it woke me. So I decided to have a hot bath and relieve some of the strain. I got into the bath and felt a small gush at the time I didn't think anything of it. My back felt better so I got out. That is when the pain got really bad and I thought I was feeling some contractions but I thought I was crazy it was way too early. The pains just kept getting worse and worse so I woke up Chad and told him to  get me to the hospital a.s.a.p I was in LABOUR.

We got to the hospital around 7:30 a.m. They took me up to Labour and Delivery. The doctor tried to stop my labour but without success it did however sow me down (with my first son labour lasted 3 1/2 hours from first contraction to baby and my second son was 5 1/4 hours from first contraction to baby). I was fully dilated and not willing to let the baby go just yet but she just had to kick me one more time and her favorite place to kick me was right in the cervix. The difference this time was it was wide open and out popped her foot. I rang for the nurse and she came in I told her what happened and she asked me to push but I refused. I stayed like that for another five minutes until out popped the other foot and then she just came right on out there was no stopping. I was terrified I knew that my baby was way too early and chances were not good. But the neonatologist told me if she was over 500 grams they would try their best. Well as luck would have it she weighed in at 635 grams (1 lb. 6 oz.).
