Know what your own time is worth - including opportunity costs - and include it in the budget especially at the micro
level [Is it really worth another hour's shopping around to save $10 once? I thought not.]
Use soft technology for solutions that can be configured for arbitrary users.
Don't antagonize your coworkers. A 'Test of Loyalty', calls only your own into question.
Your spelling is often seen outside the building; your clothing, not. Learn from this.
Respect peoples' strengths.

The needs of a user who is one in a million are worth considering.
Cater to the one-in-a-thousand user. Think about the one-in-a-million.
100% is the most there is.
Systematic rewards for dishonesty should be avoided strenuously.
A job is a job, a work is a work -- excess commitment is no virtue, excess enthusiasm is no vice.
Report problems early and adequately. Reward early reporting of problems.
Talk it through first.
Hierarchy is a means, at most.
If people are upset, there is a problem to be solved.
If they're working here, they probably have something worth listening to.
All else being equal, do it right.
Policy should reward desired behaviour.
An appeal to principle is a valid argument.
Specify Interfaces.
No person may claim another's body, mind or soul.
Build Soft -- The future flexes (and users don't know what they would prefer).
All stakeholders shall make money, and be happy.
Anything worth doing is worth being paid for.
Physical assault is never acceptable.
Honour, Goodwill and Security are everyone's concern.
Make no irrelevant impositions!
Variety in style is a positive thing(?) i.e. Diversity is Good.
Results count more than appearances.
Social and Educational needs are legitimate, within the workplace, as without.
Different people, different strengths.
Doubts and fears are not failures (unless mishandled).
Expect the best of People.
Doing it right is difficult; be prepared for screwing up.
Bribes do not yield stable solutions.
When work is assigned, means are provided.
Your behaviour must be strictly within your tolerances.
Explain Everything. Then stop.
When assignments are made, authority is granted.
Manifest goodwill shifts the burden of proof.
Invest effort in future efficiency.
Support your colleagues in managing their own time.
Humorous intent is not the same as goodwill.
