Don't feed your hamster too much lettuce. It's causes diarrhea.
When first taming it, first position your hand so your index finger is towards your pet. Your pinky is easier to bite than your index finger.
If you want your hamster to use a certain corner for the bathroom, try brushing the bedding material from that corner. This will encourage it to use that corner.
It's not a good idea to keep more than one hamster in each cage. If you really want more than one hamster, get two dwarf hamsters (of the same sex so they can't mate). The Chinese or Russian kind are good. Here's the warning: dwarf hamsters are REally hard to hand tame if you don't get them while still very young, best if 5 weeks old.
