I was born and brought up in Levenshulme,leaving in the 60s.My mother had a disagreement with her cousin, John Jarvis ,and i had no contact with him or his family.I am now trying to find out more about him and his family. My name is Les(Leslie)Wilson.I had a older brother ,Peter and younger sister Jennifer.I lived at 372 Barlow Road from birth in 1943 until 1961. I then went to live with friends Les and Jean Smith at Laindon Road,Rusholme,Lindsey Ave,Levenshulme,and Thorncliffe road. We all three went to Cromwell Hall ,Gospel Hall in Levenshulme. I then moved to Glasgow around 1966 and there lost contact with old family and friends. I was Christened at St Marks Church,Levenshulme.Went to St Marks,Gorton Mount and Spurley Hey Schools. My father was William Henry(Bill) Wilson,who came from Reddish,and whose parents had a sweet shop in Prenton View . I think he had brother/s and sister/s but none survived to my childhood memory.(So he must have died before 1947.) My mother was Ivy Wilson nee Rayner.She had two brothers,Arthur and Leslie(Leslie had a daughter called Yvonne).An older step brother Jack and two older step sisters ,Dorothy and Marjorie,whose surname was Beresford.She may well have had older step brother/s sister/s from an even earlier marriage by her mother (surname unknown).
