These are some of the rarest Martika items I own ranging from merchandise to releases.
There is quite a lot here so please be patient while the page loads, it's worth the wait ;)

Martika (UK VHS)

The video collection for the singles from the first album.
Slightly disappointing in that all the songs bar Toy Soldiers are remixes :/
The tracklisting is:
1. More Than You Know (12" Extended Version)
2. Toy Soldiers
3. I Feel The Earth Move (12" Extended Version)
4. Water (Humberto Gatica Remix)

For You (Japanese VHS)

Basically the same video collection but far superior.
The tracks are the same (yeah, remixed >_< ) but there is a bonus video!
'Making of Toy Soldiers Japanese Version and more', which is great to watch.
There is also a fold-out track-list and lyrics sheet plus 3 beautiful posters!!
(Also released on Lazer Disk)

Pioneer 'Private' telephone card (Japan)

As far as I know this is the only Martika 'teleka' produced in Japan.
Although others may well exist. 'Teleka' aka: Telephone cards were extremely popular as
collectable items in Japan with thousands produced featuring everything from
singers to vintage cards. Recently teleka production has been in decline due
to the heavy use of personal phones in Japan and are made almost always as a gift item now.
Sad really as they are pretty cool and often with exclusive photography.
I talk about the 'Pioneer Private' campaign Martika fronted later on this page.
It was common for their to be a teleka range made for these promo campaigns featuring the celebs.

More Than You Know (1st edition 12" Vinyl)

I'm not sure if this is a promo or a first pressing...either way it is an alternative
edition of the 'More Than You Know' 12" Vinyl single and is fairly scarce.
Another version also exists. Both together complete the 'Part 1' 'Part 2' series of mixes.
I found those all very confusing by the way, haha

Martika album sampler 12" Vinyl (Japan)

Strictly promotional this was released as a sampler for the debut
Martika album in Japan. This is extremely rare and features an exclusive
cover image and some of the more catchy and up-beat tracks from the album.
Tracks are:
1. I Feel the Earth Move
2. If You're Tarzan I'm Jane
3. Cross My Heart

Water first pressing 12" Vinyl (UK)

The UK's first pressing of the Water 12" Vinyl came with 4
new over-sized gorgeous picture postcards.

Toy Soldiers by Kirari (Japan)

Japanese vocalist Kirari covered 'Toy Soldiers' in 1999
this is the CD maxi single. Not especially rare in it's own right
but rare for the Martika fan. The song was used as the
opening theme to a Japanese TV Drama (based on a comic) 'QUIZ.'

Special Touch mini-album (Japan)

One of the best and most well known of the rare items, Special Touch features
the Japanese language version of Toy Soldiers as well as
it's main selling point, a Karaoke Version!
The jacket folds out into a cool poster too!

Tracks are:
1. Toy Soldiers (Japanese Version)
2. More Than You Know (Spanish Version)
3. I Feel The Earth Move (Spanish Version)
4. Exchange Of Hearts
5. Toy Soldiers (Spanish Version)
6. Toy Soldiers (Original Backing Track)

I Feel The Earth Move 3" CD single (Japan)
One of the three Japanese CD singles for I Feel The Earth Move.
Ironically it's now actually rarer than the limited remix E.P below!
Isn't the cover cool!?

Tracks are:
1. I Feel The Earth Move
2. Quiero Entregarte Mi Amour

I Feel The Earth Move Remix E.P (Japan)

Quite a rare Japanese remix E.P of I 'Feel The Earth Move'.
It's a collection of all the mixes on the 12" on CD.
Includes a fold-out lyric sheet!
Tracks are:
1. I Feel The Earth Move (Seismic Rhythm Mix)
2. I Feel The Earth Move (Club Mix)
3. I Feel The Earth Move (Dub Mix)

I Feel The Earth Move 7" Vinyl promo (Japan)

Super-rare Japanese promo only 7" of 'I Feel The Earth Move'.
Tracks are:
1. I Feel The Earth Move
2. I Feel The Earth Move (Introduced by Martika)

Toy Soldiers 7" Vinyl promo (Japan)

Very rare 7" promo of 'Toy Soldiers' with an exceptionally beautiful
picture sleeve, another of Hideo Oida's great photos!
Tracks are:
1. Toy Soldiers
2. Pounding heart Virgin Lover (More Than You Know)

Martika calendar-sheet set (Japanese promo item)

An amazing find and probably one of the rarest items.
It's a 6 page double-sided promo calendar with beautiful pictures,
several of which are exclusive.

IN ROCK Vol.92 / August 1991 (Japanese magazine)

Rare Japanese magazine featuring Martika.

IN ROCK Vol.83 / November 1990(Japanese magazine)

Another rare issue of Japanese magazine featuring Martika.

IN ROCK Vol.95 / November 1991 (Japanese Magazine)

Yes, another issue!

'CF Best Hits Encore' (Japanese compilation CD)

A compilation of Sony's TV commercial theme songs.
Features the rare Japan-only debut single 'We Are Music' by Martika & The We Ares.
The song was used as Sony's 'DAT' cassette campaign theme in 1987.

Toy Soldiers 3" CD Single / Limited version (Japan)

Front Back Photo-card

The Japanese CD single for Toy Soldiers.
This is the rarer limited version with a special photo-card.
Both versions of the single came with different and beautiful front and back covers
taken in Japan by Hideo Oida.

'WE ARE MUSIC' 5"CD (Japan)

'WE ARE MUSIC' was Martika's first single release in 1987.
It's also hands down one of the coolest songs she ever recorded.
Unfortunately hardly anyone knows about it as it was just released in Japan.
The song was created especially for Sony to help launch the 'DAT' cassette.
It was used in the TV Commercials etc.
Martika recorded the original version and they also got in session musicians
to record various different styles of the song such as Jazz and Doo Wop.
I am not totally sure why children in costumes are on the covers but I think they might have
been used in the promotional campaigns so it makes sense. But thats just my guess.

Tracks:
1. We Are Music - Martika
2. We Are Music ~ Heavy Metal Version - Chris & The Heavy Metal
3. We Are Music ~ Merry & The Jazz Gang
4. We Are Music ~ Arnold & The Little Doo Wop Company
5. We Are Music ~ Rap Version - Martika & The We Ares

The 5" CD single comes with a 1988 credit card-size calendar.

We Are Music (12"Vinyl) (Japan)

(Note - can only fit half onto scanner ;)
The 12" Vinyl version comes with a sheet of 'We Ares' stickers. (Below)
It's just the kids in the musical costumes.

Also included with the 12" is the usual insert.
Here is the picture of Martika from the insert sheet!

'I Feel The Earth Move'  3" CD Single (Japan)

This one is a bit of a surprise!
I had no idea this version existed! This means yet another cover image was also used for this single.
All in all  'I Feel The Earth Move' was released on 3 different versions of 3" CD in Japan!
(One of which being the remix E.P)
This is the rarest, with the cool cover image and text from the 'Pioneer Private B7' audio System advertising
campaign Martika and the song were the face of at the time.

Tracks are:
1. I Feel The Earth Move
2. Quiero Entregarte Mi Amour

Pioneer 'Private' Catalogue (Japan)

In 1989 Martika was the face of 'Private' electronics company 'Pioneer's' home-stereo range.
Martika's song 'I Feel The Earth Move' was the TV commercial/campaign song for a while.

(More details of that on the above item.) Something called the 'B7 twinxtwin' to be precise...
Anyway this is a catalogue from November 1989 with their 'latest' (at the time!) stereos and electronics.
The catalogue has some of the most stunning pictures of Martika around and she is throughout the
catalogue posing etc..

'More Than You Know' promotional video (Japan)

This was a promotional copy of video for the single 'More Than You Know'
sent to various relevant people in the industry. It was not on sale.
Those pretty graphics spark up a plain old tape sleeve pretty well ;)
