We leave Sabari and head back to Bwagoia to clear out with Customs, and then sail 10 miles down the coast of Misima Island to Bagga Bagga village where we anchor in 25 meters and tie the stern up to a coconut tree on the beach.
The village has vast quantities of fresh cold water running down the hillside from a natural spring in the rock into a series of pools which are divided up for washing and bathing and for drinking. The water is so cold I can’t stay in it for more than 5 minutes. We soon find out it’s school holiday time, all the school children are home causing mayhem, swimming around the boat all day, paddling around in canoes and inciting riots for a few balloons. We trade with them for coconuts, pawpaw, beautiful sweet pineapples, lemons and tomatoes, unfortunately the cucumbers and watermelons aren’t ripe yet. The girls show me where I can wash my clothes, then isist on doing the whole lot for me, so I promise to bring them some t-shirts and dresses.
