about . . . . .

Myrna Temte lives in Washington state with her husband, two teenage daughters and a miniature schnauzer who thinks she's in charge of the household.  As a native Montanan who attended college at the University of Wyoming, Myrna grew up surrounded by the kinds of people she enjoys writing about now--ranchers and small town residents with big hearts, modern ideas and old-fashioned values.  She loves sharing her knowledge of her home state and other western states with readers from all over the world.

Myrna enjoys doing the research for her books almost as much as she enjoys writing them, and will go to great lengths to find accurate background information for each story.  It doesn't hurt that her best buddy from college has a degree in animal science.  She's also talked to ranchers, people at organ transplant centers, the U.S. Marshals Service, veterinarians and arson investigators.  Her favorite research escapades included spending a week at a dude ranch in Pinedale, Wyoming, for her Cowboy Country series and working for eight days as an extra on the set of the movie, Dante's Peak for her Hearts of Wyoming series for Special Edition.

The thing she likes most about writing romances is the constant challenge to find new and exciting ways to share the stories of her heart--stories of love and family and lasting relationships.  There's nothing more important in her own life, and, she suspects, nothing more important in the lives of her readers.
