Quidditch is easy enough to understand, even though it is not easy enough to play. There are seven players on each side and they play with four balls. Three of them are called Chasers. It is the Chasers job to throw the red ball (that is about the size of a soccer ball) to each other and try to get it into one of the hoops to make a goal. Each goal is worth 10 points. There is another player on each side, and they are called the Keepers. The keepers job is to fly around the hoops and keep the other team from scoring. There are also two beaters on the teams. The beaters job is to fly around with a small club and protect their team from the bludgers (the bludgers are two jet black balls that are slightly smaller than the Quaffle, and they try to knock players off their brooms) and hit them over to the other team. Last but not least, another player on the Quidditch team is the Seeker. The Seekers job is to catch a gold little ball, about the size of a walnut, with silver fluttering wings. The seekers has to dodge all the Chasers, Beaters, Keepers, and the Blugders to catch the fast moving ball.Once a seeker catches the snitch, the teams wins one hundred and fifty points and then the game is ended. |
