Matt Lockyer To Play 5/8 In Trial

In the Tigers 1st trial game against the Parramatta Eels on Australia Day looks to be a hard clash.

But it wont be any easier for young Matt Lockyer, brother of the well known Darren Lockyer of the Broncos. Terry Lamb has named him to be starting five-eighth in the trial to see how he fares against tough 1st grade opposition.

The more NRL 1st grade experience the better for Lockyer, as he looks to establish himself in the side. After struggling early in pre-season training, Lamb says that he has now settled in well.

The Tigers and Eels kickoff at Carrara Stadium on Jan 26th at 7:00pm.
