| 1.
We started the meeting by stuffing envelopes carrying invitations for the
people who had expressed interest in AID at the Diwali mela on Jan 22nd,
at our special "New volunteer's meet". There would be a small presentation
on AID by the following volunteers:
Introduction
to AID and AID Vision - Naga
AID projects
- Priya
AID Sandiego
and our activities - Srividya
Rama will send
out an email to the rest of the people whose email id are available. The
main highlight of the meting wa that we finished well on time and a number
of important issues were covered. |
| 2. Rama brought
out his fancy acid free paper-notebook and ink pen and initiated a discussion
on what AID SD grp would like to achieve over the year 2000. After receiving
inputs from all the volunteers,it was decided that the following items
would receive our focus this year |
| a.
A concert for Orissa relief with CRY - Vaijayanti would contact the artiste
and look at possible dates around April/May and rates. |
| b. Anu will
look at auditoriums in the area. |
| c.
After hearing from Zakir, Srihari will talk to CRY Inc and submit a formal
proposal for this concert. |
| d
There was much concern regarding the delay in AID MD about Orissa receipts
and it was decided that Anu will send out an email to the people who have
donated and tell them that the receipts will reach by end of this month.
Srihari will compile the list of the emails while Vaijayanti will send
her the detals of how the money has been utilized. |
| e.
Arun was nominated as the official AID treasurer who would keep all the
accounts for all AID SD money and send them to MD from time to time. He
would also send the Diwali mela money immediately. |
| f.
We would focus on Science education and Science experiments which has been
on our agenda from last year and Arun and Priya would specially look into
this and take the lead. The Science toy-shopping for Balaji would be completed
by today and we will try sending it with Rama, early feb. |
| g.
We would try taking up one AID admin activity completely from MD. There
was an initial suggestion that we could edit one This Month in AID ( Srividya
was volunteered by the rest as the chief editor from SD) this year and
we would try doing one round of mailing. |
| h.
Naga has already set up the web page for AID SD and it was to be finally
launched by midnight, last night , by Jurang and Naga. we all appreciate
his excellent job on the web page. f. We decided that besides orissa, we
would take up two more projects in Sandiego. |
| Vaijayanti
volunteered that she would over look the two projects other than Orissa
and coordinate it while the Orissa projects would be coordinated by Srihari. |
