Healer

Render of the veil, rend the veil of my mind.
Vender of salve, unguent sell for eyes blind.
To resonate with Truth, ears open and tune.
To speak your Word bold, tongue loose and imbue.

Wherever he went, the power was present
To be drawn upon freely by royalty or peasant.
In his hometown resentment in scoffing hearts lurked,
By their doubt he was bound; could do no mighty works.

I'm anointed to heal, the gospel to preach,
Captives in chains and prisoners to reach,
With the name of my Father, your God and mine;
Where once darkness dwelt, Light henceforth will shine.

Lepers were cleansed, the lame leapt and danced.
He came to give life; life divinely enhanced.
By the touch of his hand, by the word that he spoke,
The power of a covenant forgot, he invoked.

He bore all our sickness and carried our disease;
By the stripes on his back, chastisement appeased.
Lay hands on the sick, and over them pray!
As I've been, I will be; I still heal today.
