Word Prayer

Holy Father, keep your children in your name, the name which you gave Jesus, that we may be one even as you and he are one. May we fully know your name, as Jesus makes it known to us, that the love with which you love him may be in us, and he in us. May our love abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment. Keep us from the evil one. Sanctify us in the Truth; your Word is truth.

Father of glory, grant us, in accordance with the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with power through your Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; and that we being rooted and grounded in love, may know what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and truly know by experience the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

God of our Lord Jesus Christ, give us a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of you. I pray that the eyes of our heart may be enlightened, so that we may know what is the hope of your calling, what are the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of your power toward us who believe.

Father, may we be filled with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please you in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to your glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to you, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

God of peace, sanctify us entirely; and may our spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. May you fulfill our every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power; in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in us, and we in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord, I pray that in all respects we may prosper and be in good health, just as our soul prospers. May grace, mercy, peace and love be multiplied to us in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. May our hearts be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Heavenly Father, equip us in every good thing to do your will, working in us that which is pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen
