Course Objectives:
 -  Build on the foundation of skills established in Part 1
 -  Develop moderately advanced PC skills
 -  Learn advanced techniques in MS Word
 -  Learn basic techniques in MS Excel & MS PowerPoint
 -  Improve skills for communicating using e-mail
 -  Develop better Internet skills
 -  Become an EMPOWERED computer user
What is an Empowered Computer User?
 -  Understands the basics of being a successful computer user (See below.)
 -  Develops an attitude of playing a game
 -  Uses discovery learning (experimentation)
 -  Uses "Save As…" before trying an experiment
 -  When things don't work quite right, develops a theory of what happened
 -  Learns how to use "Help" functions
 -  ALWAYS makes back-up files in two different places

 -  Microsoft Office applications
 -  Documents, data & presentations
 -  Help functions
 -  Printing documents
 -  Internet and e-mail
What is a Successful Computer User?
 -  Understands that learning occurs gradually and in stages
 -  Knows what kinds of emotions computers can produce
 -  Tries to put emotions to one side in order to think more clearly
 -  Has strategies that encourage experimentation and self-teaching
 -  Works at not being afraid to make mistakes
 -  Finds sympathetic and encouraging teachers
 -  Tries not to compare himself or herself to other people
 -  Is VERY PATIENT with himself or herself
