Norwalk-Wilton Parent Initiative
Parents working together to access, enhance and create, after school recreation, and other social/leisure activities, for people with different abilities.
The Norwalk Parent Initiative has been in existence since the fall of 2001.  In September 2002, members voted to change the name to the
NORWALK-WILTON PARENT INITIATIVE
to represent the actual membership.
WHAT HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED?

Through the cooperation of the Norwalk YMCA and with the support of the Department of Mental Retardation, West Region Community Recreation Team we now offer the following programs:

   
Summer - Mini-Golf
   
Year Round - Bowling
   
Friday Night Recreation
      Twice a month at the Norwalk YMCA
      (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on the 2nd & 4th Friday
      of each month)
      Activities include: 
           * Swimming
           * Gym Activites
           * Pizza and Social Time
       Supported by:
           * Parents
           * DMR/WR staff
           * YMCA staff

NWPI Meetings are Held:
On the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Norwalk YMCA.
All interested parties are welcome to join us!
