Anime Expo 2002 Report

ThrusdayI don't remember what time I showed up. I wore my Gao Ranger jacket. Don't think anybody actually knew that it was a costume, but I didn't really care. I liked it. It was very hot. Most of Thursday is kind of a blur. I don't remember much of anything. I managed to find the guys that I ws rooming with pretty early, so that was out of the way. I didn't have to worry about where I was going to change into my Myu Tuxedo Kamen costume or if I would have the time to do it before the SeraMyu panel.

Ah, yes. The Seramyu panel. That is why most of the day Thursday is a blur. I was hosting the panel, with Randy and Tristen. Never done that sort of thing before so I was a bit nervous. It went very well. Tristen arrived from LV and Randy just missed the incident at LAX. Unfortunately Emi-san's friends from Japan didn't.

Thursday evening Michi, Tristen and I went to Karaoke. I changed into my Maria Dokoro X costume. I didn't sing because I didnt' know any songs well enough to do so.

FridayI met my friend Firday. He came for just one day. Spent the day in the Dealer's Room. I got a Sakura Taisen show dvd. Kind of disappointed there wasn't more Sakura Taisen stuff. I also got a Reni pencil board. (going to cosplay her next). Found a sister for Haru. Now only one Michi sister is missing her 'special friend'. I was wearing my King costume.

Capcom vs SNK cosplay. SNK outnumbered Capcom. That was fun. I was only an observer last year. This year I was in two group photos.

SaturdayMy day started at 4:30. I had to go and wait in line for Masquerade tickets. Got good seats.

Wore my Great Saiya Man costume. I didn't see any other GSM's with a helmet. Went into the Dealer Room again. The gloves I have for the costume are very hot. And it's a bit hard to see with the helmet on, and I don't want to poke somebaody's eye out with the antena.. so I take them off.. I have to put them back on every time sombody asked for a picture. I lost one of the gloves. No biggie. I just have to go and get another pair.

I changed into my Myu Tuxie for the Masquerade. I didn't want to have to hassle with the helmet and I didnt' have sunglasses and a bandana.. I sat with LaLa. The show was great. So many great costumes.

SundayI had actually planned on leaving early. I got up and packed my stuff. I wore Maria Dokoro X for the Sakura Taisen group photo them promptly put it in the car. I went into the Dealer's Room yet again to see if there were any last minute deals to be had. I got the tow Patlabor movies on dvd for $30.

I found Layne and company sitting in the Hyatt lobby. There were waiting to have dinner with some Japanese cosplayer. I was asked to join in so I went. It was so much fun despite the language barrier. They were so cute. After dinner they invited us to join them in the jacuzzi. We had such a hard time figuring out what they were saying. LOL. Hot tub! It was very enjoyable. When it was time to go, everybody was very sad.

Well, that was most of my con experience. I had a lot of fun. I only went to two panels and one of them didn't count because I was a host. I met a lot of my con friends and made new ones too.
