Fanime. In Santa Clara, California. This was my first 'out of So Cal' convention. Anime speaking that is. I attended a Hercules/Xena convention in SF back in 1997. Anyway, I made the six hour drive with four others, me driving my mom's mini van, in the wee hours of Friday morning. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And I stayed awake. Eheh. Even got some rain! Yay. I like rain. After getting settled into our room, it was off to do whatever... Did I sleep? I don't remember! haha!! I think I later put on my King costume. Yeah, that's what I did, I think. I actually had 5 costumes! I did't know I had that many of them. I changed into my Great Saiya Man costume that evening. Saturday morning, I went down as myself to wait for Masqurade tickets. Nothing happened this time. Not like AX. You know, I've run into a few people who heard about the incident in the AX line? Got tickets, so it was back to the room and back to sleep. Later that day, I wanted to go to the Sakura Taisen panel. And since it was rather cool as opposed to Lancaster for Ani-Magic, I was going to wear my Dokuro X costume. And it was all inside so no worrying that only half of my face would get tanned. >< I don't think very many people knew who I was cosplaying as. But in front of the panel room somebody did. That made me happy. I changed into King for the rest of the day. It was the least cumbersom of my costumes. (well, maybe Ninja Orange would have been the least, but I didn't wear that one because I knew that very few would get it...) All my other costumes had capes. Hmmm... do I have a cape fetish? Der Cosplay was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the different skits. There was a lot of variety. Although I disagreed with some of the judging in the end, most of the winners were well deserving of their recognition. And it was cool! Some of my friends won! The last day, I wore my Great Saiya Man costume. Walked around the dealers room to spend the last of my money... I found some stuff that I thought was cool. But not anything that I _really_ wanted. Spent too much, but I had the money. I had a great time. |
