Egg Puff
- 4 cups (about 1 loaf) of dry white bread, cubed and crusts cut off
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 eggs
- 4 cups milk
- 10 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup peeled, chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, more may be added
- 1 Tablespoon flour
Instructions:
Butter an 11x14 pan and spread the cubed bread on the bottom.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar over the bread. Lightly beat the eggs, mix in the milk, dry mustard, salt, onion powder and flour. Pour mixture over the bread and cheese. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, sliced mushrooms, and chopped tomatoes over the whole pan. Cover and chill overnight. Uncover and bake at 350F for one to one and a half hours.
