Malted Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup butter flavored Crisco
- 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup regular malted milk powder
- 2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chunks OR milk chocolate mini kisses or chopped Hershey bars (about 4 1/2 to 5 bars)
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine shortening, brown sugar, malted milk powder, chocolate syrup, and vanilla; beat for 2 minutes.
Add egg and mix. In a small bowl mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and chunks.
Shape into 1 1/2 to 2 inch balls; place about 3 inches apart on
ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool for 2 minutes on pan before removing to wire racks to cool
completely.
Makes 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 dozen
You can use Hersey syrup with malt instead of the regular syrup.
