Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups oatmeal, dry
- 1/2 cup nuts, optional
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Cream shortening. Add sugars; cream well. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, and mix. Add dry ingredients sifted together. Add rest of ingredients and mix. Drop by teaspoon or roll in small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes.
