Chewy Ginger Cookies
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- Sugar
Instructions:
Beat butter, 1 cup sugar, egg and molasses until well blended. Stir in
flour, ginger, baking soda and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1 1/2" balls.
Roll balls in sugar. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at
350°F for 10 minutes or until lightly browned and still puffed. Cool on
cookie sheet for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
