Ginger Cookies
Ginger Cookies
- 3/4 cup Butter
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1/4 cup Dark Molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground Ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground Cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Orange Zest (Grated Orange Rind)
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoon Baking Soda
Instructions:
Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl. Add the egg,
molasses, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, orange zest, flour and baking soda.
Blend well.
For the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in a bowl of granulated sugar.
Place the balls about 2-inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a
pre-heated 350-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on a wire rack,
store in an airtight container.
