Thumbprint Cookies
Thumbprint Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts, optional
- 1/2 cup Smucker's® Preserves or Jams, any flavor
Instructions:
Combine butter and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Blend in almond extract. Add flour and salt; mix well.
Shape level tablespoonfuls of dough into balls; roll in nuts to cover. Place on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten slightly. Indent centers with your thumb; fill with preserves or jam.
Bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 22 cookies.
