Apple Roll
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, finely chopped
Instructions:
Boil sugar, honey, and water together to make thin syrup.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar
together. Cut in shortening and add milk to make a fairly
soft dough. Roll on floured board in rectangular shape,
about 1/4-inch thick. Spread apples on dough and roll like
a jelly roll. Cut into 1-inch lengths and place cut-side up
in a greased pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cover with
hot syrup. Bake at 425F for 25 minutes.
