Apple Pie #2
- 5 or 6 Granny Smith Apples Peeled
- 2 - 4 Tablespoons butter
- sprinkle of flour
- 2 9in pie crusts
- 1 cup of sugar
- dash of cinnamon
- dash of nutmeg
- 1 Tablespoon water
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400. Lightly dust the bottom of one pie crust with flour. Dot the bottom of the pie crusts with about 1 or 2 Tablespoons of butter. *Use according to your personal taste. I use a lot.* Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar. Liberally sprinkle with cinnamon. Add just a pinch of nutmeg. Slice the apples on top. The apples should be higher than the pie crust. Add the other 1/2 cup of sugar. Again sprinkle with cinnamon. Add another tiny pinch of nutmeg. Dot with more butter. Then add just 1 Tablespoon of water. Place the other pie crust on top of the other one. Pinch the edges together. You can use a fork dipped in water to make it stick. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes then lower the temperature to 250 and bake until the crusts is golden.
It is best served warm with your favorite kind of vanilla ice cream.
