Only rarely do we see a science fiction carried characters that are believable and human in their ideals, emotions and growth. Macross was among the rarities that shine not simply because of the glimpse of the future it offered to arouse the audiences. Yes, Macross will always be rememberd by those spiffy transformable Valkyrie Fighters and the splendid space combat, but Macross is more. It always had elements of music, visuals and dramatic progression all working together. It was a truely ideal blend. Macross is music. This series sets itself apart from other animes and Sci-Fi by making a song the focus in the story. Who can ever forget the sensational synergy from the 1984 movie, "Do You Remember Love?" No matter how much this work called "Macross" may change, its relationships with music will remain forever the same.
