MommaT's Hawaiian Pineapple Pork Treat
6-8 serving size pieces pork - chops, steaks, etc. (boneless works best) 1 large bag stuffing cubes-sage onion flavor 1 large can crushed pineapple (in juice not syrup) 1 large can sliced pineapple (see above)or 1 sliced fresh pineapple
Brown meat in frying pan or broiler. Prepare stuffing as directed on bag, except replace part of the liquid with juice from both cans of pineapple. Add crushed pineapple to stuffing. Transfer meat to baking dish, 9 x13 or similar size. Place a slice of pineapple on each piece of meat. If you have leftover slices fit them in to pan around meat. Carefully cover with stuffing, pressing down on to slices of meat & fruit. Bake at 350 for 45 min to 1 hr. If stuffing gets too brown or dry cover loosely with foil. Serves 6. *Note: Recipe may be doubled or tripled for a crowd. I just cut meat into smaller pieces if serving varied appetites, especially adults & kids. Also you may layer lasagna style in a deeper pan for a fancier treat. |
