SWISS STEAK IN THE CROCKPOT

(This is great over rice!  Smells great while it's cooking all day!

(Serves 6)

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds London Broil, (around 1 inch thick)
  • 1 envelope Lipton's Golden Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 pound fresh mushroom, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 (16 oz.) tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 can tomato paste, (3 oz.)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
Cut across the steak about 1/4 inch thick and place in the crockpot.  In a large bowl mix tomato puree, Worcestershire Sauce, cornstarch, tomato paste, pepper, green pepper, mushrooms and onion soup mix.  Take a whisk and mix thoroughly.  Pour over the steak in the crockpot.  Cover and cook on low setting 7 or 8 hours.
 

(This is a great meal for a busy day.  Start it in the morning and all you have to do is make some rice or egg noodles and a salad and you have your whole meal!)
