Several times she visited the dojo after she'd met the Old Man. She fought when it was demanded of her, she was Garou, after all -- a warrior. It wasn't her preference, however, not since meeting Eld. She came to the Dojo now to see him.
That night, she noted how the high ceiling of the Dojo gave the managers of the place room to be inventive and thus, they were. There were all manner of arenas for martial artists to try their skills against one another; but Cait wasn't there to duel. On top of her hopes to see the Old Man, she knew Tisman Black Rose, Ian Munro, her brother, had been seen here. Time after time she visited, hoping to find him. The Spirit voice had told her to find her brother here. She didn't know why, but she trusted the Spirits. She'd dreamt of them since coming of age, but only that first time, when she'd received her name, had they spoken to her. Some nights when she visited the Outback, she hoped she wouldn't find Ian after all; still, time after time, she went. When she saw Eld it was a reward and she found herself with feelings she didn't understand. Some of them scared her.
She had to admit to herself ultimately that she liked going to the Dojo and might continue to do it whether Eld or Ian ever showed up again. Even if she remained at the bottom of the totem pole, it was good to be part of it. She didn't stay at the bottom for long. She won her first duels and it felt good. It was something she was earning on her own. Her wealthy father hadn't bought it, Simon hadn't given it to her. She had done it.
She liked it.
Right up until Ian came in that night, she'd liked it. She confronted him - he looked right through her at first as if she were just some other punk kid come to harrass an aging dog. And he was far older than she'd expected despite knowing their vastly different dates of birth. She really hadn't thought about it much. She had only come find him because the Spirits told her to do it.
He didn't know her as sister and he disbelieved her word. Dreams-of-Spirits and Tisman, Black Rose talked, not pleasantly, and ultmately she left in anger, throwing at the doubting Garou her only proof: a medallion that had been their mother's. It was something he coudln't question.
From then on, it was slow going. When they met the next few times, they were cool to one another. Almost cold. But gradually, the familial warmth crept in despite their hostility. Ian showed her the Deli he'd started. She met Ashly, the woman he was seeing and she heard about his other woman, the one who'd borne children.
When the tragedy hit, Cait wasn't near to help. Ash, in a panic, had found her when Ash was unable to find Ian. Cait Dreams-of-Spirits walked with Spirits when went into the Umbra to search. She knew he was there, but he didn't want to be found at first. She would go back to the Dojo, drained and almost always, Eld was there. His mere presence was balm to her. The more she saw him, the more she believed in life's intangibles.
Finally, Ian let her come to him; but only after a friend of his -- who Cait only knew by the name of Blu -- had dragged him home. He told her about the deaths of his children, the need there had been to guide their souls home. The more he talked, the more she came to look at him as a person not a vendetta. Cait found herself seeing their mother in him and herself as well. She saw Ian in herself too and in seeing, gained some measure of understanding.
