is currently finishing a mix of 'starting Together' called 'Starting the death
march', and interference is
working on a mix of 'Alright, Ok, You Win'. Thirdly, Carl Kruger
(aka mode) has expressed interest in the project, and is likely to contribute
soon; and Edgeley butcher V/Vm, who
recently had an NME single of the week for his Lady In Red 7", has also
confirmed that he will be hacking into Su Pollard soon. 17/08/00 Also the last song on Su's album 'Come To Me (I Am
Woman)', which charted at No.71 in the charts back in 1985, is finally available
to download on the Su's Songs page. 03/08/00 02/08/00
Ok, no updates for a while. Sorry about that...I've been oh so very busy. Anyway...the good news is that all the tracks are in. Jansky Noise finally got his mash up of the HI De Hi theme to me after numerous failed attempts. That should appear on the site in a couple of days. Packaging and inlay have been finalised...expect the first artist copies to be in flimsy packaging that deconstructs itself every time it's handled. Booklet will appear on floppy disc unless a deal can be made with a local printer.
Final Tracks from non dj with nth degree and all ordinaries are now in and available to download from the deconstructions page. Also Jansky Noise has remixed the HI DE HI theme and should be sending it in soon.
News just in from non dj and Colin Pascal (CPI). Non dj has completed his mix of 'Once you lose your heart' with collaborator Nth degree. That track should be available to download soon. Unfortunately Colin Pascal has had to pull out of the project.
Swamay has delivered his Electro style mix of Falling For You and it is now available to download from the Deconstructions page.
Two more tracks in. Bess Keloid has finished his remix of 'Never thought I'd be losing you' and arnold layne has contributed a mix of 'Falling for you'which will be used as a bonus track. Both tracks will be available to download from the deconstructions page soon.
Also V/Vm has been able to find the Hi De Hi theme and has asked Jansky Noise to remix it for the project. Check back soon for more updates and new tracks.
The line up for this project is now complete...Swamay is now putting the finishing touches to an electro mix of "Falling for you," and two people have promised me mixes of "Once You Lose Your Heart," within the next fortnight. This means that the project should be complete by the end of the month. I will begin sending out artist copies as soon as all the the tracks are in.
People everywhere are getting busy with Su. Tracks from d-503,
V/Vm, mc
iedh (Carl Kruger) and interference
are now available to download on the deconstructions
page. As for new contributors, Bess Keloid has been following the project for a
while and has now decided to get involved himself. A mix of 'Never thought I'd
be losing you' from him should be arriving soon. All of which leaves us with
just two tracks left to remix...a new batch of random emails went out today so
hopefully I can tempt another closet Pollard fan to come out and celebrate.
The appeal of Su Pollard continues to amaze me as more remixers from around the
world take her songs a/part. Firstly, noise artist Alex
Impey has contributed a constipated mash-up of 'You never done it Like that'
called 'Choicepollardmincedevouredatthefarm' which is now available to download
on the Deconstructions page.
First update for a while sees two more tracks added to the deconstruction page.
The first is a violent mash up of 'Lies (LA LA LA LIES)' by Notphik called 'Pies
(PA PA PA PIES)'. The second is a terrific cover of 'Perhaps Love' by a guy who's
really taken Su Pollard to his heart. It's called 'Perhaps Love (On All
Furniture)' by Nothing But Wheels.
I have received another hack-up, this time from Binary Being, also from Pigdog
Records. His is a fab mix of 'Wives Will Always Be The Last To Know' called Su's
Jazzy Sheets Mix.
Two mixes in so far. Cho'pin from Pigdog
Records has contributed a gritty mash up of 'You've Lost
that Lovin' feeling,' called Shitty Day In Bolstrop Mix. River Fish Duo has sent a mix of 'Band of Gold'
called Better Than The Original Mix.
