Pep/Concert Band will be participating in Band Day 2006 @ UMass
Amherst. Each fall, dozens of high school bands come to UMass
to learn from and perform with the Power and Class of New England, the University of Massachusetts Minuteman
Marching Band! On Band Day, students will have the opportunity to
work with three of the nation's most recognized marching band specialists. Director George N. Parks, Associate Director Thomas P. Hannum,
and Assistant Director Michael
J. Klesch have earned national reputations for their work with
marching bands and competitive drum and bugle corps. Beginning early in the morning, bands from all across Not only is this great fun for all participants, it offers high school musicians the opportunity to perform in front of a college audience. You don’t need to be in a marching band to participate in band day………take a look at the 2008 performance (below)……..the only marching involved is what gets everyone onto and off of the football field. |
Assorted individual/group shots: Band Member Information · Permission slips will be available soon! · For rehearsals: Dress appropriate to weather conditions (Inclement weather may cause rehearsals to move indoors) · For performance: Marching Band Attire appropriate to weather conditions (DressCode) · Arrive @ NRHS 6:45 AM to load buses · Buses leave @ 7:00 AM sharp · Bring a lunch · Game time: 1:00 PM · Return to NRHS will be around 6:00 PM depending on the game and traffic conditions. · Have Fun! |
Band Family and Friends Family and friends are encouraged to come for the game and enjoy the spectacle. Several Nashoba alumni currently perform with the Minuteman Band! Come on out early and tailgate. Don’t miss the Minuteman Band’s pre-game show. In addition to the Band Day massed bands performance at half time, you can stay for the Minuteman Band’s full post-game show!
