The John Lively Foundation Drum Set

The Music department would like to express its' deepest thanks to the John Lively Foundation for their purchase and donation of a new drum set in 2003-2004 for our students' use.

The set is a Ludwig super classic, mahogany stain, five piece kit. It is top-of-the-line from the drum company that's been a favorite with professional drummers for 100 years!

This set uses ''the rims system'' for the tom mounts and is completely shock-mounted on all hardware connections for silent, no-noise performance. Also included is a new set of cymbals, including a splash cymbal and a china cymbal that belonged to John Lively, NRHS Class of 2002.

This is a most generous gift that will serve the needs of the Music department for many years to come.

At the NRHS Fall Jazz Concert on November 19th, the 2003 percussion sections from the Thursday Night Dues Band and the Jazz Ensemble are shown with their benefactors, Jane and Ron Lively of the John Lively Foundation, along with the Ludwig drum set presented to NRHS by the Foundation
