I enjoy my little pet, Mutzy. He is 4 years old...Male Maltese...Is
champion bred. He is hunine...no canine...
"grinning"
..so human he is..and a great joy in my life.
I have to star this precious fella in his own special place!
Mutzy has his own little
13" color TV...he likes to watch
Nickelodeon...and cartoons...he
knows how to turn his TV on and
does not want to turn it off.
Mutzy makes sounds watching
his program...and he sits as he watches.
He also picks up his toys and puts them
in his toy chest...has been a routine
for him since he was very young.
He is very obedient...and a loving
pet.
His chest of foods and treats...are marked
for him...and when he wants
something to eat...he stands up at the
chest...and waves his paws...as if saying..
its time to eat !
He has his own little doggie door to go
outside (outside is back deck) and back in...and he
feels he is in command at all times. Don't tell him, but, he usually is!
A DOG'S PRAYER
by Beth Norman Harris
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is
more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your
hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly
teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as
you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls
upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a
domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater
glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though
had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest
upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are
my God and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach
you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food,
that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your
side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should
your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the great master see fit to deprive me
of my health, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your
arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest - and I
will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest
in your hands.
MALTESE MOMS
Shirley Dunn
They say that all Maltese Moms
Are inclined to brag a bit,
And that there is some truth in that
I frankly must admit.
For since I have become a Maltese Mom
And many of my friends have too.
I'm floored by all the bragging
These other Malt Moms do.
To hear them rave you'd think
This whole Maltese breed
Was fast becoming Supermalts
At a tremendous speed.
Yet when I see these little Fur Babies
Their Mom's pride and joy,
Each seems to me to be
Quite an ordinary Maltese girl Or boy!
Of course I humor them along
And say I think they're fine,
But you can see the difference
If you've ever noticed mine.
My own is so much sweeter, smarter,
More beautiful than theirs,
I can afford to humor them
When they put on such airs.
I'm really glad that I don't brag
Like other Malt Moms do.
I've so much more to brag about
If I just wanted to!
