Roman Gaetan was born in Italy during the 14th century, a time of incredible growth in artistic expression. He experienced the Renaissance and achieved a high social standing as one of the premiere sculptors of his day. One evening, after a party in Venice celebrating the recent achievements of many artists, Gaetan was approached by Angelica Laminatto, an art critic and collector from Florence. Laminatto convinced Gaetan to accompany her to her villa in Venice. There, she Embraced him. She soon moved with him back to her home in Florence, where Gaetan remained, until Laminatto was destroyed by a Sabbat assassin in 1398. In the early 16th century, Gaetan moved to Austria-Hungary, where he amassed a great deal of wealth and power. He lived there until 1761, when repeated attempts to end his unlife forced him to come to the New World. He roamed New England for many decades, and then moved south, stopping for periods in Ohio and Virginia. Eventually, he found his way to Nashville and settled in.
