Trepidation
The light escapes me.
It is so dark.
The cold envelops me.
I shudder with the chill.
He comes to me and I scream.
Take me please!
Take me from the pain!
I feel no fear!
The heat comes.
I cannot see.
The pain swells through my chest.
What’s happened to me?
Am I dead?
Is this what death is?
I feel… have I been shot?
Part of me wants to stay alive.
Part of me wants to die.
Will it end this suffering?
The searing heat!
Take me with you please!
Don’t abandon me here!
Death, come to me!
