It was a cold December morning, and we were in school, chilling in Mr. Kelly's room before classes began. It was tradition for us to hang out there because we were stupid freshmen and we had nothing else to do. The topic of conversation was about the snow that we expected to come later in the day and whether or not we would get out of school early. As we eagerly discussed the possibility of ultimate greatness, also known as getting out early, Shane Kelly decided to butt in.
"I hear we're getting out after lunch," he said. The crowd in his room burst into cheers of anticipation. "...at 2:42," he continued. He gave that famous Shane smile and laughed at our broken hearts. Shane Kelly may have been famous for his bad jokes, but that one took the cake of stupidity.
