On Christmas day, we will fly to New Zealand. Our itinerary there is once more fairly open, as we plan on renting a car for the first several days [driving on the left should be fun], and adventuring around the North Island a bit. We will camp at Nikau Cave on the 26th. Yes, those are bathtubs outside the 'cabin.' Check out the Garden&Farm link, and you'll see why we chose the place.
We may
Bungee
(they spell it bungy) or do an
extreme cave tour
or
Zorb
before we finally fly from Rotorua to Queenstown, where we will begin the
Milford Track,
a 60 km [36 mile] trail hike through a temperate rainforest which happens to be situated on a coastline recently carved by glaciers, making fjords the prominent geological feature of this region. After the Milford Track, we will continue across the South Island to
Dunedin,
near an interesting
peninsula,
and we will alas part ways as I (Nate) fly again across the great pacific to return to life as usual iin Birmingham.
