Final Fantasy is the first of the many games in the Final Fantasy series. When it was created, it was the last chance for its creator to come up with a game....his final fantasy. Which is how the game earned its name of Final Fantasy.

Story: The game is good, but it has a pretty bad story. The story is essentially about four guys carrying around four orbs, and they're supposed to light them somehow. The story is saved by the slight development it creates, but sometimes you have no idea where you are going next. 12/20

Graphics: The graphics were basically average. However, the game did have a pretty big world map that was fairly detailed. It was probably at the level of Dragon Warrior. The dungeons were usually original in design. 15/20

Sound: The sound, as with most FF games, is pretty good. Some things from FF1 are still used in today's FF games. There are a few repetitive tracks, though. It is not quite perfect, so it gets a 19/20

Gameplay: The gameplay and battle system are pretty decent. There are secret maps and mini-games to play if you can discover them on the controller. Control is perfect, and walk speed isn't that bad. It does take a lot to level up, though, and the targeting system for the battles is annoying. If you target a monster and it is killed, you don't switch your target. You just miss instead. 18/20

Fun: Sometimes the game can drag onward a bit, but that's true in almost all RPG's. It was one of the first RPG's made and it is still worth a play today. Gathering gold for overpriced items and leveling up were annoying, but it is still worth it. And most people will probably use the infinite gold Game Genie cheat anyway. The game is more leveling up than it is challenging. All in all, it's a great game. 16/20

FINAL SCORE: 80/100
