Story: Halo: Combat Evolved. Humankind is fighting a losing battle against a powerful fellowship of alien races known as the Covenant. You and the other surviving defenders of a devastated colony world make a desperate attempt to lure the alien fleet away from Earth. Shot down and marooned on the ancient ring-world Halo ™, you begin a guerilla war against the Covenant. Fight for humanity against an alien onslaught as you race to uncover the mysteries of Halo.(taken from www.ebgames.com) Anyways, you are a next-gen combat guy simply named Master Cheif. You go around killing the Covenant and its just a great story, not the best, but great. If this game were made into a movie, it would be great. 18/20 Graphics: Wow, these are some detailed graphics. For the most part, the lips match the dialouge and the characters are detailed down the littlest things. The cinematics on this game are excellent. I can tell the guys at Bungie took time on this game. 18/20 Sound: Wow, wow wow. This game has the best music for the type of game it is. Whenever I hear this music, I know that it is Halo. The music is flawless. Also, the dialogue is great. Whenever you are in the field of battle, the Marines around you say different things whenever they shoot someone or get shot. Sometimes, what they say is pretty funny. Whenever you die, you can hear your body hit the ground. Also, the Master Cheif has some computer in him named Cortana. She basically tells you what you need to do to further the game. But, I dont know what I need to take a point or two off for. But, it doesnt get a 20/20 because there are some faults, but I cant find them. 19/20 Gameplay: Well, lets start off with single player. The controls take some time to get used to, but once you get used to them, they are well placed controls. Everything you need is right there. This game is somewhat realistic too (forget all the aliens and futuristic weapons) but when you reload, it doesnt take you like .4 seconds. It actually takes time to reload, so it adds to the realism. Now, on to my favorite part, multiplayer. First, you can play 4 player multiplayer. It's really fun, you can play CTF (capture the flag), Slayer (go around and get kills), and there are other modes of playing too. You can play all these modes with teams too. The only bad thing is that you can "cheat" by looking on other peoples screens to see where they are. But never fear. With the power of the XBox, you can buy a cable to link up 2 XBox's. So that means one team uses a different TV than your team, so there is no cheating. It is really really fun to play 4v4 Halo. I have spent hours and hours into 4v4 Halo by linking up the XBox's. Not many games or systems can make it so you link up 2 (or more) systems. 19/20 Replay Value/Fun: Like I said, just deal with it. no wait, wrong thing. uhh... Hours and hours of my time on Earth have been spent into Halo gaming. Even though I dont even have an XBox (it's my brother's, and he's so retarted with the games he gets, so i plan on buying a preowned one of my own) I still play Halo whenever I can. Halo is one of the only games that still costs $50, and it has been out for so long. I would recommend this game to anyone, and if at first, you dont get used to the controls, you will, and its worth it, because I will play this game "Whenever, Wherever." (hahaha) 18/20 FINAL SCORE: 92/100 |
