Jeremy,
Congratulations, you are the proud new owner of a very special fruitcake. I made this fruitcake in our bread maker for Christmas, 1994. I gave it to mom for Christmas. Since then she has given it back, I have mailed it to Kristi, it has been hidden in Dutch ovens, put in with the spare tire in mom's car, etc. etc. etc.. It has been passed back and forth many times.
This fruitcake, of which you are now the proud possessor, is becoming a family heirloom. It is your responsibility to care for the fruitcake until you can pass it to somebody else in the family, preferably as a gift coinciding with a special occasion of some sort. Do not, I do not care how hungry you are, eat the fruitcake (Actually you have probably figured out that this fruitcake isn't really worth eating anyway.). Also, please do not lose the fruitcake, as it would be very difficult to replace. I don't know if the bread maker could take it. For example, please do not try to mail it home from Argentina. However, if you know somebody who is going home to Las Vegas, you could send the fruitcake with them. Besides, mailing the fruitcake is very expensive because it weighs so much. Can you believe how heavy the fruitcake is? Anyway, enjoy your new fruitcake.
Sincerely,
Nate
P.S. It is great if you keep it with your socks, because it makes them all smell really nice.
