Red XIII is the last of his kind. He was captured by Dr. Hojo who performed experiments on him. Dr. Hojo called him Red XIII and tatooed his left shoulder with the roman numeral XIII. He is actually a proud warrior from Cosmo Canyon who is a fierce fighter, yet very noble. Red is ashamed of his father, Seto, because he believes that he deserted his people when he was supposed to be protecting them. Red will find out that things are not always as they seem and some secrets have been locked away for a long time. Though he is 48 years old, he is actually young for his species, which lives for hundereds of years. Red XIII is a strong fighter with moderate magic skills.
Where you meet him: Aerith has been captured and Avalanche has launched a daring rescue attempt in which they raid the Shinra Building. As they make their way to the top, they confront Dr. Hojo, who plans to experiment on her. She is kept in a glass prison along with Red XIII. After Aerith and Red XIII are rescued, Red decides to join the team.

Absorbs the power of the cosmos and unleashes it's might upon all enemies that hits for major damage. You can find this in the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. It's in the same safe where Odin and the basement key are locked away. You should get it when you go find Vincent.
Most Powerful Weapon - Limited Moon
On Disc 3, return to Cosmo Canyon and have Red XIII talk to Bugenhagen. Red will get the Limited Moon from him. It's power increases with Red XIII's MP level.
