The Finnish Final was held on February 21st at the YLE TV Studios in Helsinki, hosted by Erkki Pohjanheimo. Before the final there was a Semi-Final on January 29th - the finalists were chosen by postcard voting. For details of the eliminated songs click here: FINNISH SEMI-FINAL 1981 In the final, the winning song was chosen by the votes of an "expert" jury which included Marion Rung who represented Finland in ESC 1962 & 1973 and Lasse Mårtenson who represented Finland in 1964.

Riki Sorsa came 16th at the ESC. Markku Aro represented Finland in 1971.
