Prayer to Great Grandfather

Great grandfather
I come peacefully to be in your stead.
I am well, but most confused.
You are all knowing and seeing.
Tell me grandfather,
what I am not hearing.
Show me grandfather,
what I am not seeing.
My pen is as the buffalo wallow
stagnant and dead.
Refresh in me thy spirit,
thy sight, thy sound.
You see I am from
the storytellers tribe.
we are a nation,
from the four corners
of the earth.
Members of a sacred hoop.
Give me charcoal,
so that I may share my spirit,
with my people.
For my hand is still.

In most humble recognition.  Baldy
