She Came From The Stars

She came from the Stars, to gather enlightenment. She stood on the edge of the world, gathering, collecting, and gleaning. When she had finished she returned to the Stars with her bounty.

Her basket brimming and filled, she called to the Thunder Beings and called to the Whirlwind. When they came to see what was needed, she stood again on the edge, this time on the edge of the Whirlwind. She looked inside for a time, pondering the wonder of this willing Wind.

Then she emptied her basket into the Whirlwind and the wind took all of the enlightenment that the woman gathered and shared. It spun the knowledge and whirled it, 'til it became a sparkling, twinkling, colored dust of enlightenment.

The Whirlwind then scattered these tiny brightly colored lights across the land. They settled everywhere, on people and animals, in forests and streams, in the sky and clouds, everywhere... It comes to us in the form of Prayers and thoughts and good feelings. In our lessons and the voices of the Elders, in the joy of sharing, in our children's smiles.

The woman of the Stars looks down, content with what she has done, thankful for the help she has received in this venture. Think of her when you see that unexplained light, or a meteor shower or a rainbow or a twinkle in a loved one's eye and accept the gifts she shares.
