Searching Dreams for You

I'm wondering why I can see you-
But never see your face,
You visit me upon my dreams,
In many a wonderous place.

Sometimes I know that you are there -
Because you come to me,
Sometimes I feel you, watching, hearing -
But your eyes I have yet to see.

There's times I know you understand,
Your knowledge I can feel,
And you're ever like a friend -
Can we break this seal?

It's you I know, though you change looks -
I sense our gaze on me,
And there are times I've heard your voice,
You always set my spirit free!

You are there, for you give clues -
And at times I feel your touch,
But I am wondering who you are,
And why you care and such.

I am wondering exactly what
You're trying to get at -
Why you visit, ever watch me,
Should I wonder at that?

I feel comfort, warmth, devotion -
And know not who you are,
I have yet to see your eyes,
Would they twinkle like a star?

Why are you in mystery?
How did you find my dreams?
You keep your space, and yet come close,
And you've shooed away my screams.

Though you've hidden, donned disquise -
I have usually found you out,
You don't seem to mind so much -
And I've never heard you shout.

I sometimes feel you're there to teach,
Sometimes there to learn.
Are you, like me, ever searching,
Trying love, to earn?

Are you looking in the forrests -
Traveling every stream,
Are you, like me, merely searching -
For the face beyond the dream?
