Shattered, Broken, Mended, Me

In the broken mirror
I see a broken face
Worry, anger, fear, and pain
Things I must embrace

Shards of memories
Knicks of times
Gathering a menagerie
Injustices and crimes

Happiness by hatred
Loneliness by love
Crying and content
Scarred forever by shove

Reflecting a thousand moments
Seen by a thousand eyes
Collected in mirror
Shattered within lies

I see the face of wanting
Beside the face of trust
I see the face of needing
Beside the face of lust

I see the face
I want to see
I turn away
From a hypocrite me

I see a question
In a fragment
A forgotten fear
Cold and stagnant

A jagged piece of hope
Holds up a shattered dream
Difficulty falls to the counter
Charging past a scream

A trail of blood
Down my arm
I wiped at long ago
Promise to never harm

Steam has misted bitterness
Craziness shatters by sane
Agony, trust, and temptation
Wash down the open drain

Lights above casting prisms
In worry, giggle, and blush
An eye peers out of misery
A mouth has punctured flush

The door knob resides among opportunity
A towl resides in why
A crack has split up unity
A piece falls out of sigh

I am alone
Surrounded by me
In a broken glass
Of what they see

Whisked away into the trash
Lies and torments of my past
A new glass hung, I stand and look
Wondering how it changed so fast

In a brand new mirror
I'm a reconstructed face
Broken bits of what once was
Fit back into place

I disected bits of me
In a broken glass
And now that I have been renewed
I recognize it's come to pass

I wipe away the last fragments
Of what were before
Now the picture is whole again
And I am much more sure

The broken face of everything
That I came to see
Are pieces that fit and reflect
Every seperate aspect of me

In a brand new mirror
I see what I have seen
Broken once but reconstructed
I've embraced what I mean.
